A new standard

This camp will set a new standard for summer hockey camps nationwide.  I've attended, coached, and spectated more camps than I care to remember both in Sweden and the U.S.  We have taken the good, subtracted the bad, and added what was missing to create a truly comprehensive hockey camp.

The goal is to create a positive learning environment to promote the game of hockey and inspire players to achieve more.

The camp is open to Sqiurts-Bantams including goalies divided in two groups with 3 hours of ice daily, dryland, and classroom elements including nutritional & training advice, video analysis of technical elements, guest speakers, and more.  Guest speakers will include current and former professional players who will share their experiences and offer advice.

Healthy and nutritious lunches and snacks will be included daily to keep the players fueled properly.

In addition to on-ice instructors, speakers, etc, each group will have 3-4 group leaders with them at all times to supervise, keep the players motivated, and ready to make the most out of the week.  All instructors have been screened and backgrounds checked.

A professional goalie instructor will be on the ice daily for at least one of the sessions.

European camp

The Swedish Hockey Exchange will expose players to unique on and off ice training techniques used in Sweden and other European countries.

Head instructor Andreas Wochtl grew up playing in Sweden.  Along with international guest coaches he will share training methods used in Sweden.

Instructors

Head instructor Andreas Wochtl grew up playing and coaching in Sweden outside Stockholm.  He played for the AIK organization from age 12 to Junior A, exposing him to some of the best coaches in the world such as Verner Persson, Vladimir Jurzinov, Petri Aho, and more.  During this time he represented the Swedish U-16 National Team.  He moved to the U.S. where he played both Midget AAA and Junior level hockey for the Philadelphia Jr Flyers and the Philadelphia Little Flyers.  Andreas played his freshman year for then Division 3 NCAA school Lebanon Valley where he was voted on the ECAC All-Rookie Team and was voted Defenseman of the year by his coaching staff.  Andreas has since coached in various capacities but really developed a nitch in true long-term skill development with only the players best interest in mind.

Thomas Eriksson played for Swedish AIK's youth and junior organization where he was coached by Swedish coaching legends Tomas Storm (Detroit Red Wings Skills coach) and Verner Persson who is credited with introducing Sweden to Russian hockey training techniques.  Thomas played minor league hockey at the Division 1 level in Sweden.  He has six years coaching experience, currently leading Team Vallentuna's 2000s who are ranked among the top 5 teams in Sweden for their age group.  He runs Hockeyfabriken (Hockey-factory) which developed the Storm White hockey stick, and runs camps and clinics in Sweden focused on comprehensive player development.  He works alongside Hasse Persson, now head coach of Team Vallentuna's juniorteam, formerly in charge of Skelleftea Hockeygymnasium and credited with developing current Swedish players David Rundblad (Phoenix Coyotes), Adam Larsson (New Jersey Devils) and Tim Erixon (Columbus Blue Jackets).  Thomas focus is on skating technique, stickhandling, and offensive play.

Martin Engstedt played his entire hockey career from start to end with Vallentuna Hockey organization.  He has played in the Swedish minor league system at the Division 1 level.  He has six years of coaching experience also with Vallentuna's 2000 team.  He runs Hockeyfabriken with Thomas Eriksson.  He specializes in shooting, body contact, and defensive play.

Terry Denike will be on the ice daily specifically to work with the goalies attending camp.  Terry will also be sharing some insights from a goalies perspective to help all the players become better educated and more complete hockey players.   Many of you know Terry from his successful work with almost every youth organization in this area.  Terry is not only a great guy but a wealth of knowledge for our goaltenders and another person who shares my vision and passion for the game of hockey.  Terry has played college hockey and professional hockey beyond that. His full resume and accomplishments are available www.denikegoaltending.com.

Skill DevelopmentUnrecognized Guid format.

The Swedish Hockey Exchange will expose players to unique on and off ice training techniques used in Sweden and other European countries.  Individual skill development is key to continuous improvement.  Our approach recognizes that player acquires skill differently.

The comprehensive skill approach goes beyond on-ice drills into the classroom where players will analyze skating technique and more.  It also carries over into dryland drills focused on improving on-ice mechanics and develop proper habits.

Proper preparation and nutritional habits will be covered.  Each player will gain an improved foundation to start off the upcoming season with.

Waiver of Liability
